SSCL recently announced the appointment of Mike Driver as Independent Chair of the SSCL Board. Within this role Mike will support the Board and provide strategic oversight and governance.

The decision to appoint Mike reflects the development and maturity of SSCL since the joint venture started in 2013. Effective from 1 January 2022, he will provide independent expertise as SSCL continues to develop its range of critical business support services for the UK Government, Defence, Police, and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) across the UK.

Bringing over 40 years of Civil Service and financial experience, Mike has held senior roles at the Ministry of Justice, Department of Health and Social Care, Department of Work and Pension and HM Treasury. He is also the President of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountancy (CIPFA) and a qualified accountant.

Commenting on his appointment, Mike said: “I am delighted to be able to join SSCL as Independent Chair of the Board.
